You might have noticed a few changes around here :) After many months of work we’ve finally launched the new version of PokerTableRatings.com. There are too many changes to list, so rather than try to hit them all here I thought I’d just concentrate on one section at a time.
I think one of the most interesting new additions to PokerTableRatings.com is the player search Analysis page. To view this page simply search for a player in the player search tool and then click on the tab that says “Analysis.”
This page is filterable via the drop down box at the top of the tab. Simply select a stake in the drop down box and click the blue “Filter” button. The analysis page only shows information for the limit that is shown in the filter dropdown box.
At the top of the analysis page you can see a few interesting key pieces of information regarding this player’s play at the currently selected limit. Of note is the looseness profile, which is a measure of how loose/tight a player is relative to the other players in this limit. For this statistic higher means the player is looser. For instance a looseness of 75 would mean this player is tighter than 25% of the field at this limit.
However, I’m sure you’ll find the most interesting part of this new page are the graphs! For looseness, aggression, and showdown frequency we’ve created a scatter graph and a bell curve each statistic.
For the looseness scatter graph we’ve placed looseness on the X-axis, and Win Rate on the Y axis. Green dots represent players at this stake level, and the red dot is the current player. So in the looseness scatter graph a player who is in the top left corner would be winning at an extraordinary rate while playing very few hands.
For the looseness bell curve you can see this player relative to the population on a curve. The current player is represented as a dot on the curve, and the further to the left the tighter the player, the further to the right the looser the player. A player right at the top of the curve would play a very average amount of hands for this limit.
As you can see there is a lot of new information here! This is just one of the cool new features of the new PokerTableRatings.com site. There is more to come too, so keep your eyes peeled :)
