Who is the ultimate grinder in internet poker? PokerTableRatings.com is interested in finding out. Each month I will be following the action and reporting on who is churning out the most profits at the $1/$2 NL and $.5/$1 NL levels. The winners will receive a special badge on their PTR profile signaling their dominance, but more importantly, the right to call themselves the ultimate grinder for the month.
In early $1/$2 action, a huge heads up match went down between Dark Deity, a solid $.5/$1 reg and levinhostar, a relatively unknown player with little history. In the course of a single hour almost $4000 was shifted from Dark-Deity’s roll to levinhostar’s at 3 deep stack HU tables on Full Tilt, catapulting levinhostar into the lead.
Even with the best of it, everything seemed to go wrong for Dark-Deity as pot after pot went against him. In this hand (Pot:$442.50), Deity gets it all in pre-flop with AA against AQ but gets crushed by the flop when levinhostar hits broadway. Tilt may have been a factor as well in this hand (Pot:$841.50), and this hand (Pot:$539.50), where Dark-Deity stacks off with pure air.

The no surprise early leader at $.5/$1 is MidnightTokr on Poker Stars who screamed out of the gate with an 11.1 PTBB/100 win rate over 15k hands. Nobody is happy to see MidnightTokr sit down to their left as he is more aggressive than 81% of the players at this level. Tokr is a favorite any month to dominate $.5/$1 and is off to an impressive start. It helps to win pots like this (Pot:$419.90).

Maybe we should rename it "Ultimate Luckbox" :)
I do however think that it takes a lot to be the #1 guy for an entire month. It will be interesting to see if anyone can take the title in multiple months.
