Hot Week For Isildur1

By Patrick Wallace - November 13th, 2009

Durrrr gets a surprise

It has been another profitable week for the anonymous Swede, who appeared at Full Tilt’s nosebleed-stakes tables only a few months ago and has been dominating the heads-up action since. He fears no poker pro, and fights fire with fire when it comes to pure aggression at the felt, taking down Full Tilt’s top players.

After 84,739 hands, Isildur1 has taken the pros for nearly $3,681,558, and has given the railbirds one heck of a show this week, being up $2,454,539.30 since Monday. Durrrr wanted more action online this year, and boy did he get it, as Isildur1 scores just over a cool million from him this week, putting Isildur1’s total profit from Durrrr at $3,144,126.90. Be careful what you wish for, hey?

There have been some enormous pots this week shifting back and forth between Isildur1 and Durrrr, the largest, a pot worth $694,954, was shipped to Isildur1 when a raising war preflop saw Durrrr’s AK trailing to his AA, the board brought no luck for Durrrr.

However, pocket rockets weren’t so lucky the next time around as Durrrr’s 82 suited caught two-pair on the turn, and got Isildur1 all in to win a $570,983 pot.

A great hand arose that showed a 3bet preflop means diddly-squat to these guys. Isildur1 lucked out on the turn but he reraised too little with his trips giving Durrrr fantastic implied odds for a draw to his 11 outs. Durrrr spikes his flush on the river and gets paid the full amount for a $554,092.50 pot.

The poker gods were still dishing out some beats for Durrrr as he managed to get it all in on the turn as a favorite with KK, only for the river to complete Isildur1’s straight. Durrrr’s bad luck costs him another big pot worth $477,590.

Durrrr managed to get his own back though as his Q5 flops a full-house, which he slow plays, and the board turns a miracle cold-deck smaller full-house for Isildur1. Needless to say, by the river all the money was in the middle. This brutal cold-deck won Durrrr a much needed $501,563.50 pot.

Anonymous characters seem to crop up at these tables every now and then, and the usual procedure is a good run of cards for the amateur, then variance kicks in and the pros have their money back with interest and show them the door. But after 85k hands, variance sure is taking its time in this case, and as his hands approach the 100k mark, the pros will definitely be taking Isildur1 very seriously. Can anyone stop the Swedish bankroll crusher? I think it’s time to let Phil Ivey off the leash.

Isildur1 may have won a lot of money from him, but I cannot see Isildur1 ever replacing durrrr. Durrrr has been a great ambassador of the high stakes online players. As far as I have seen, durrrr has not flaunted his success or used amateurish tricks against other players to win money like insulting them to get them riled up. Durrrr has always had a good attitude winning or losing and shown a lot of character. Isildur1 acts like a child and will shoot his mouth off from time to time calling durrrr “gay” etc. I am one who can’t wait to see Isildur1’s luck run out.

It’s all speculation at this point and anybody who says otherwise is lying. Not even the pros know who he is. Phil Galfond said it himself in his blog. Isildurr1 isn’t even neccersarily from Sweden.

LOL @ Tupac . . . anywayz, I just enjoy watching this ridiculous heads-up madness. Imagine how much these guys make JUST from Iron Man points? PFFFFFFFF . . . plenty more than I make from actually playing to win, that’s for sure . . . it seems like these guys are just having pissing contests . . . it’s too loose to be appreciated, because the focus is all on the $$$$$$!!! Not that I wouldn’t mind playing like that and making as much as Dwan . . .
