Pokerstars grinder, ‘nanonoko‘, has earned a Pokertableratings top hat badge this week for surpassing the $1m profit mark , but he’s a poker millionaire with a difference, having rarely played higher than $5/$10 games to achieve this vast sum of money that most grinders can only dream about.
So how has he managed to produce such high profit playing such relatively small stakes? Through the art of multi-tabling. Pokertablerating’s player search feature shows 90% of his winnings have been earned playing 20-24 tables of $2/$4 and $3/$6 short-handed cash games, which just goes to show, you don’t have to put your house up for sale and play colossal stakes with hardened pros to be a poker millionaire.
Nanonoko has amassed an astounding 2.25m+ hands on pokerstars since late August 2008, which to gain perspective is about as many hands as 76 year old poker legend Doyle Brunson has probably seen in his entire life. A lot of pros play more than one table to boost their hourly profit rate but playing 24 tables and still managing to muster up a win rate of 3.7BB/100 takes a very special talent.
There has been some tough opposition on nanonoko’s mission to achieve PTR’s coveted top hat badge, includingFastEddie267 and tsifknits who he has taken for over $22,000 each and managed to relieve SmittyUF of nearly $16,000, each of whom show profits well exceeding $100k.
Multi-tabling is a relatively new strategy to the poker world that allows players to see more hands than anyone thought possible before the turn of the century, and is responsible for turning a lot of penny playing amateurs into nose-bleed stake, hardened pros within a couple of years.
When I hear the stories of how Tom’durrrr’Dwan, Brian’sbrugby’Townsend, and Phil’OMGClayAiken’Galfond went from depositing an initial $50 to trading $100,000’s pots, it really hits home the amazing affect the internet has had on the poker world, and its huge part in creating the boom.
As a result of this, nanonoko has become an inspiration to all low-level grinders, showing that if you put the hours in at the tables and in to your game, it is possible to have a high stake salary playing low stake games.

FRIST !
Grande nano !!!
5/10 and 3/6 nl is not low stakes to 99% of grinders, its mid stakes.
Extremely solid achievement! Keep doing what you do best and ignore all the haters! I’ve seen numerous people on his comments page bitching about the fact that he should play higher stakes. Nanonoko is the first one to prove them wrong!
Again, congrats on a astounishing achievement.
gj! if you’re not the bot xD
nanonoko is my role model, keep going man
lol not what happened to him. Trainwreck!!!
Question for nanonoko. Does he use poker software such as pokertracker???
sure oO
Yes that is quite an achievement and a superb player he is- unfortunately even if I clocked that many hands my eyes would be burning from the screen, probably develop carpal tunnel, probably would not be physically healthy, and wouldn’t have much of a family or social life. Dont know how he does it!
Nice article, makes me wanna go fire up a few tables right now, at my 2/5 cent stakes :D
I agree it’s a great accomplishment. The remarkable thing is he always (almost) makes very fast decisions. I’ve never seen anyone play multi-table without making the players wait. It seems humanly impossible to insta-react when playing 24 tables. And it’s not that he’s tight either, he plays a lot of hands and very aggressively.
It’s not that hard to play 24 tables. Actually, this is the maximum number of tables you are allowed to play at PStars, for cash games. But usually when you play such a big number of tables, you become tighter than usual, I have a VP of about 7% when I multitable more that 16 tables. You just need a lot of practice, and all decisions come naturally after a while.
Anyway, congrats to this guy, he proves that anyone can make a decent buck w/o playing nosebleed stakes.
This guy doesnt dare to play to the big boys
This motherfucker doesnt dare to play against the big guys

cheats anyone seen him in the real world?
how does he watch all those tables??? does he use multiple screens or tv’s? I play on my laptop and can barely see 2 tables they r so small. Any advice for me???
Congrats Nanonoko. I remember this kid use to play MvC2 at Chinatown in New York. Now he has over a million dollars, sick. I saw him once, I never talked to him before. He’s somewhat popular in Marvel vs Capcom 2 community
@bbbbb55555 I play 12 tables on my 17 inches monitor. If you want to play 24 tables, you have to have duel monitors. However, you should be able to play 6-8 tables on your laptop without a problem. Just practice multi-tabling, and get a pair of glasses:) Make sure you overlap the stables right. Re-size your table a little bit as well. Once you play lots of hands, playing 10+ tables becomes your 2nd natural. I never played more than 13 tables since I only have one small monitor(living at home, and my table is small).
wow thats awesome
