Cole South finished yesterday’s sessions with a much needed profit of $75,127, concluding his 6th winning day in a row. He has been grinding the lower stakes tables in an effort to recover his big losses to Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan at the start of the month and Cole’s luck has certainly been with him this week.
The larger of Cole’s 2 sessions played yesterday was the 244 hands of $50/$100 PLO he played against Phil ‘OMGClayAiken’ Galfond, geoff7878 and MagicNinja, resulting in Cole winning all the biggest pots.
Cole won the largest pot of the session when he flopped a set of 2’s and MagicNinja paid off his pot-size bets on all the streets, winning Cole a $26k pot.
Cole hit a lucky flop when he played a hand heads-up with geoff7878 who had all his money in the middle preflop with aces against Cole’s kings. Cole hit a set of kings on the flop which improved to a full house on the turn and held up to win a $21k pot.
MagicNinja hit a cold flop that brought him top pair and a flush draw against Cole who had managed to flop himself another set. All the money went in on the flop and Cole’s set of 3’s held up to take down a $21k pot.
Cole’s luck continued when he found himself on the wrong side of a coin flip. MagicNinja flopped bottom pair with a dead gut shot and flush draw against Cole’s aces with a gut shot. The money went in on the flop with MagicNinja as a 55% favourite, however Cole’s aces held to win the $17k pot.
Phil ‘OMGClayAiken’ Galfond lost a pot as a better than 2 to 1 favourite when he flopped top two-pair against Cole’s top pair with a gut shot. Cole turned his gut shot straight to take down the $20k pot.
Cole South is still $255k in the hole for December but if his luck continues like this week, we will hopefully be seeing a little more higher stakes action from him in the near future.
