Cole South finished a very lucrative session nearly $500k better off on Tuesday night when he squared off against Patrik Antonius and Phil Ivey for some heads up PLO action at Fulltilt’s nosebleed tables. Patrik took the worst hit, dropping just over $280k to Cole over 4 tables where they exchanged numerous 6 figure pots brought on by plenty of big flops and bluff catching.
Cole made an impressive river call when Patrik fired 3 barrels, semi-bluffing with straight draw on the flop and a straight-flush draw on the turn. Cole had the draws dominated but by the river he only had pocket jacks against Patrik’s pocket 8’s. Patrik fired a huge river bet and Cole picked off the bluff to land a well deserved $292k pot.
Patrik lost a huge pot when his pocket kings ran into Cole’s pocket aces. Patrik utilised some pot control preflop and on the flop but when the turn paired the board and gave him a dominated flush draw, all the money went in. The river improved Cole’s aces to a full house to take down a pot worth $307k.
Cole ran into some bad luck when he shipped his stack into the middle with flopped bottom pair with the nut flush draw against Patrik’s dominated straight-flush draw. Patrik caught the straight on the river to win the $228k pot.
Cole slow played the nuts when he flopped an ace high flush against Patrik’s top set. They checked the flop and Patrik bet pot on the turn and all in on the river. Cole called him down to win the $216k pot.
Patrik lost a pot to bad luck when he just called a 4bet preflop with pocket kings and got his stack in the middle with a flopped set against Cole’s straight-flush draw. The turn and river gave Cole running backdoor flush cards to scoop the $154k pot.
Cole South has been on a massive heater, winning 11 straight sessions for a total of $1.2m in the last 5 days and it has taken it’s toll on Patrik’s bankroll as it tries to recover from the last week’s thrashing.

He’s running good but I think CTS is the best big bet (NL/PL) player in the world. You gotta give best all around to PA and Ivey in a tie.
