A familiar name reappeared at Fulltilt this month as mystery Swede ‘Isildur1‘ resumed play to grind the high stake tables. Isildur1 first caught the attention of the railbirds and pros in November ‘09 when his willingness to play any pro at any stakes caused quite a stir and left the poker community scratching their heads as the fearless Swede took heads-up guru, Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan for over $5.5m. Isildur1 continued to relocate bankroll’s on a gigantic scale until his ill-fated session against Brian Hastings dropped him $4m and this was ultimately the demise of Isildur1’s bankroll…or was it?
Reports have been circulating that a Betfair player going by the name of ‘Omlphalotus’ has a very similar style to action catalyst Isildur1, and has been grinding long, multi-table sessions at the nosebleed stake PLO tables, but reports are as yet unconfirmed as to whether these are one and the same player.
Much to the railbird’s dismay, February has not been a great start for Isildur1 as he nears close to $30k in losses. It once again looks like he is not putting his best foot forward as he is up $19k in heads up NLH games this month.
It seems like it will be a while before we see Isildur1 testing the water at the nosebleed tables again but would he be looking to take durrrr for another $5.5m, or gunning for a rematch with Brian Hastings?

Did he get any money back from Full Tilt after being cheated?
Of course not he was cheated by an American
sick
cheaters should be ban forever
LOL calling out cheaters on a site that sells hand histories.
I like Isildur but he wasn’t cheated in any way. Looking at hand histories is not cheating, he lost $4m in that session because he ran incredibly badly and was playing a very good player.
But still, what happened was against FT’s policy. It’s against their policy for a reason.
he lost most of the money to hastings, who never cheated. get lost u 5c/10c grinders.
He wasn’t cheated… you guys are fucking retarded.
Someone is saying that he got cheated because Hastings was using hand histories?
i hope there is no cheating involved
even if he was being cheated, he should have stopped before he lost so much money. that’s just common sense…. right?
hahah, cheated? really, and what about his play against durrr, he won 5M from durrr analyzed his hand histories on PTR
Why PTR not tracking Betfair games?
Sorry, but “that huge money”? it was 40 buy ins, standard variance HU. He wasnt rolled (and imo noone except ivey) to play 100K HU NL or PL. Bt u gotta play it anyway its hard to get 10MM without doing it. Gotta take a shot.
He just lost to cardrunners not because they cheated but because he was running veryy bad and playing PLO. The thing is: its against FullTIlt rules, and i think they should give him at least 50% back
its agianst the rules but its ony a minor indescretion. its not so bad that it warants taking the money back even if it is 4mil
He dropped 4 million because he was playing a better PLO player for close to 12 hours vs Townsend and ran close to 1.4 mil over EV but only managed to 800k doing it, then he ran bad to the tune of -1.5 mil vs hastings who again is a better PLO player than him then he monkey tilted off another 2 million.
As for all the cheating crap spare me, datamining is common & what site is all this on? & you guys know for certain Isildur hadn’t datamined vs Durrrr, PA, etc before hand.. Oh wait, you don’t.
I seem to recall seeing him snap call a huge pot size bet (like 50K if I remember right) on the river with Q high. IN PLO!! That is how he lost 4 mil, not because of cheating.
It’s not just ‘looking at hand histories’ like you can do on PTR. You can’t see the mucked hands on PTR, you can only see them if you were involved in the hand yourself. Because Isildur had never played Hastings, and Hastings had seen mucked hands he wasn’t involved in, it gave him a totally unfair edge. This isn’t just looking up a few face up showdown hands, this is 50 THOUSAND hands, a huge percentage of which were mucked between Isildur and Townsend. Isildur couldn’t even adjust to this as he had no idea Hastings had access to this information.
Also, whether you think datamining is morally right or wrong or not, it’s still against the Full Tilt Terms and Conditions. Brian Townsend broke this rule, and Full Tilt even accepted that he broke this rule by removing his red name as punishment for one month. Anyone here breaks that rule, and they get their account suspended minimum, if not banned. Townsend has broken FT rules for the SECOND time, where his datamining is at the centre of a $4.2 million loss for someone, so this isn’t some low stakes 500 hand datamining situation here. If they let the pros get away with this kind of thing, what else are they getting up to? Same punishment should be applied to all players on Full Tilt, otherwise this just gets ridiculous.
My ? is if we did that and got caught do they take are money?
Actually I’ve seen guys quote PTR stats in chat at the table, several of us at the table have compained to support and the offenders don’t even have their chat revoked, full tilt won’t even admit a breech of their terms and conditions occurred much less do anything and the offenders are doing the same shit the very next day so Townsend’s slap on the wrist was more than anyone else would get.
And as for gitrash’s drivel, that wasn’t what happened, Townsend purchased (gee, wonder where) some hand histories and discussed his reads of Isildur’s play, the first is a minor violation & entire commonplace of this site would have shut long ago, the 2nd isn’t at all. It’s pretty hilarious how delusional most of Isildur’s fan boy’s are on this and the other sites, reality doesn’t make a dent in their boy crushes on someone they know nothing about.
this man is the king of swings can’t wait see at the nosebleed again
you can do it dawg! HEJA SVERIGE
It is cheating when you look at the hand history…if Full Tilt put the rules, then it must be inforced.
obviously this guy is a donation station -2m come on. im no pro but i wish i the bank to play him looks like i could make some cheese off this guy, but maybe not
I’d like to play Isildur1 as well edash but I’m sure I’d be schooled the hard way that he is no donation station. Be great for the experience though. Nothing like getting owned to improve your game quickly.
Nobody mentiones other skills needed to play poker, mainly poor bankroll management, which is my own weakest spot.
Needless to say, I’m recreational player and know where I’m at in this game but having checked out lots of their hands I figured that Isil simply cracked due to too long sessions over better and more experienced players. Tom and Brian are not to be compared in my own humble opinnion.
@gitrash: 100% right what u say. Most ppl dont realize that “little” difference and thats retardet ignorance!!
Isildur1 cheats, ban him from FTP! ^_____^
Hah , what are the chances nearly every high stakes pro online has checked hh from other people. Hastings and Townsend just made the mistake of saying it aloud. I’m sure that a large majority of the high stakes players do, only exceptions being like ivey and antonius and some of the pros who largely play b&m.
Most people have the sense to not discuss in the chat that they are doing/have done something that is “illegal/against the rules” for the site they are playing on. That said, how many top players (or us minnows) do not look at stat sites, whether it be to really study the oppositions play or just out of interest.
Most of the smaller, probably losing players (myself included :/ ) use these sites just to berate other losing players when they get a so called “bad-beat”.
A lot of the young higher limit players share houses, are you telling me that they don’t discuss players and advise each other before, during and after hands.
Personally, if it’s info in the public domain, then it’s ‘free’ for all to access/use (even if you have to pay for it!)
….oh, and how many of you paid for Poker Tracker etc and have used it against me?……..Can I claim MY $$ back?
Didn’t think so.
