Phil ‘OMGClayAiken’ Galfond has been putting the hours in at the virtual felt this week to the joy of the railers, but to the dismay of the players as he relieved the $200/$400 CAP PLO tables of over $200k in Tuesday’s action. He has racked up over $8m in winnings online since 2007 making him the 2nd biggest online winner since data records begun, and a perfect opponent choice for Isildur1 who took on the online poker giant for 592 hands of $100/$200 PLO in what may have been Isildur1’s last stand.
Isildur1 took a nasty beat when he flopped middle set and reraised all in against Phil’s top pair with a gut shot straight draw. Phil spiked his gut shot straight on the turn which held up to win a $30k pot.
Just 4 hands later, Isildur1 took another brutal beat when he flopped top two-pair with a gut shot straight draw against against Phil’s gut shot straight draw. The turn paired the board and the river gave Phil a higher two-pair to scoop the $21k pot.
Isildur1 executed an ill-timed reraise when Phil slow played trips on the turn and value bet the river. Isildur1 saw something that wasn’t there and pot-reraised, only to be insta-called by Phil who took down the $32k pot.
Phil ‘OMGClayAiken’ Galfond emerged victorious with a $98k win from his games with Isildur1. By the end of the sessions Isildur1 was splitting tables to buy in for $8k on others suggesting his bankroll has dwindled once again as he finished Tuesday’s games with a $250k deficit.
