Durrrr's Heater Continues through Weekend

Tom DwanTom 'durrrr' Dwan came out on top for the 2nd weekend running as his latest hot streak at Fulltilt's virtual felt bags him close to $3.7m since the start of March.

Sami 'LarsLuzak' Kelopuro also had a lucrative weekend that was helped along by a 12 session winning streak on Sunday and Isildur1's avid railers will be pleased that he managed to recover a $550k+ downswing to finish another weekend on the winner's list.

Brian Townsend's and Patrik Antonius's epic 2010 downswings continued to gnaw at their bankrolls totalling their PLO losses to $1.55m and $2.54m respectively since the start of the New Year.

Durrrr cleaned up at the $300/$600 PLO tables on Sunday evening when he logged 552 hands and took $708k from the felt.

Durrrr landed a monster pot when he reraised the turn with the nut straight-flush draw in a 4 way pot and got 2 callers. Durrrr knew he couldn't be in bad shape for the pot odds on offer and his shove paid off this time as he made a straight on the river to take down a $438k pot.

Durrrr beat the odds in another 4 way pot when he moved all in with pocket jacks against Urindanger's and Brian Townsend's pocket aces and Ziigmund's king high. The flop brought durrrr a flush draw which he completed on the river to land a $214k pot.

Ziigmund and durrrr locked horns in a big pot when durrrr called a big reraise on the turn with a pair of 8's and the nut flush draw. The river gave durrrr the nuts but it was Ziigmund that came out with a huge bet and durrrr made an easy call to win the $365k pot.

The 'Durrrr Challenge' resumed again on Friday evening for a mini session of just 61 hands that cost Patrik Antonius another $231k. This has got to be another headache for Patrik who is desperately trying to reach the other side of one of his worst downswings yet.
They are now 33,303 hands in and Durrrr has a $1,986,418 lead meaning Patrik will need to win at a rate of at least 30bb/100 to take this challenge and the $1.5m side-bet down.

They both hit the flop hard when durrrr flopped the nut straight against Patrik's straight-flush draw. The turn gave Patrik another flush draw and a raising war set them both in. Any black suit on the river would have won it for Patrik but durrrr's straight held up to take down the $184k pot.

Durrrr had his stack in great shape when he turned top and bottom two pair with the nut flush against Patrik's dominated two-pair with a straight draw. Once again durrrr's hand held up to win a $93k pot.

Durrrr hit lucky on the turn when he flopped a wrap straight draw against Patrik's top set and flush draw. Durrrr found his straight on the turn and avoided a flush card or the board pairing to land an $82k pot.

Isildur1 fancied a challenge of his own on Sunday evening when he logged 2493 hands of $200/$400 PLO heads up against online poker guru, Di 'Urindanger' Dang. With a little help from lady luck, Isildur1 emerged victorious with a $537k win.

Isildur1 bagged the biggest pot of the session when he flopped bottom set against Urindanger's nut straight. Both stacks went in and the board paired on the turn, giving Isildur1 the full house and sending him a $148k pot.

Isildur1 again failed to credibly represent the nut flush when he fired 3 barrels into Urindanger's flopped straight. Urindanger called all 3 to take down a $105k pot.

Isildur1 hit a miracle river when Urindanger flopped a straight for the umpteenth time in the session against Isildur1's top pair with a straight draw. The turn secured Urindanger's hand further with a flush draw, but Isildur1 spiked a higher straight on the river and check-called all in to take down the $118k pot.

Getting tricky paid off for Isildur1 when he flopped middle set against Urindanger's middle pair with flush draw and fired 2 barrels. Isildur1 had improved to full house on the turn but decided on a bluff-inducing check-call on the river. His plan worked perfectly and Urindanger paid the full amount to Isildur1 who was rewarded with a $120k pot.

Durrrr and Isildur1 again turned out big winners for the weekend which can mean only one thing, another action week ahead!

Either dwan is the next Stu Ungar or he is a total hyp agg donk that will in the long run lose big. In hsp last night he bluffed on every street in a hand against Ivey. The pot was up to $650k+/-. Ivey folded to the massive river bet fut his gut was telling him to call with his lowly pair of 6's. After the hand Negreanu, Esfandiari, and another player said they would have called dwan because they knew it was a stone cold bluff.

This makes me wonder, are the top pro's getting a read on dwan? Are they realizing the guy is all about betting and bluffs?

Yes dwan has made some remarkable plays but I've also seen him willing to toss in hundreds of thousands on nothing more than air. The best learn this and it may cost dwan. We will see.

I did like a comment Negreanu made about the hyp talk of some forum people wanting dwan put into the poker hall of fame. Negreanu said (and I agree), no one under the age of 30 should be considered for such an honor. He said, he's seen to many players light up the world for a couple/few years then come crashing down. Longevity is the only way to judge who the really great are.

sry but i dont think esfand. and daniel n. can tell anything about the hand and how they would play it because they would never get to this big stack..daniel is a cg hsp fish and esfan. is too tight ..they would never called the riverbet..never

and re Phil and durrrr, if you watched the Million Dollar Cash game, Ivey lost a million dollar pot to dwan already, so he knows dwan will have the nuts in that situation at times.

Honestly I hope all of you who are in love with dwan try to play like him, its good for winning players. Seems to me Gus Hansen played like dwan and it has caught up with him. Only time will tell. There for a while people were thinking isildur1 was a phenom. But wild reckless play has caught up with him.

And dwan has some sick phucking luck. He is dominated in hands and hits 4 card str8s and flushes to bail him out. Calls raises with 2 5. Plays PLO and shoves 300k into the pot with bottom pair. Come on you really want to call that great poker?!

Yes he has made some great reads and plays but he has also had a huge number of incredible suck outs after shoving hundreds of thousands on 5 to 2 dogs with incorrect odds.

The thing is ....if you know how to play like Durrrr, why not play like him and be a winner. Seems kind of pointless to learn how to play like a winner and still be a loser.
