After two weeks of August, two relatively new accounts were out in front on the 25/50 NL leaderboard.
Ultimate $25/$50 NL Grinders
| Player | Site | Net | Hands | BB/100 |
| x6th_street | Party Poker | $140,730 | 6,089 | 23.11 |
| oovoo99 | iPoker | $124,431 | 6,152 | 20.23 |
| Suck My Ace | Poker Stars | $73,063 | 5,923 | 12.34 |
| PiS.ToTo | Poker Stars | $70,716 | 3,987 | 17.74 |
| ZhugeL1ang | Poker Stars | $69,907 | 7,110 | 9.83 |
In first place was x6th_street, whose first tracked hand on PartyPoker came on Aug. 4. In that short time, this player has been tearing up the short-handed and full-ring games and has already amassed more than $140,000 in winnings. That came largely from one short-handed session on Aug. 4 and then a full-ring session on Aug. 5 which each netted x6th_street more than $26,000 in profit. A little luck always helps in a run like that, and x6th_street certainly enjoyed some good fortune in this particular hand, where he opened ace-eight suited from the cutoff, got 3-bet from the small blind, then 4-bet from the big blind and decided to push all-in. He was in bad shape against the big blind’s ace-king but ended up making a flush and scooping a pot worth more than $20,000.
And in second place for August so far was another new player: oovoo99. This account first showed up on iPoker last month and had a decent run in July but really took off in the first two weeks of August, thanks to a series of successful heads-up sessions, including this brief match which only lasted 30 hands but netted oovoo99 more than $10,000.
Meanwhile, a more established account sat in third place as PokerStars regular Suck My Ace enjoyed just over $73,000 in monthly winnings. One of his bigger wins came in this hand, where ten-deuce suited was good for an $11,000 pot.
Ultimate $10/$20 NL Grinders
| Player | Site | Net | Hands | BB/100 |
| Klo44 | Party Poker | $56,024 | 8,852 | 15.82 |
| TooBusyStackin | Full Tilt | $48,238 | 5,277 | 22.85 |
| aejones | Full Tilt | $47,570 | 4,074 | 29.19 |
| crusher3000 | Bodog | $41,434 | 3,575 | 28.97 |
| MikiOpasniy | Poker Stars | $39,408 | 23,001 | 4.28 |
At 10/20 NL, Klo44 continued to lead the pack after a second straight week of highly profitable play. The PartyPoker player sat with just over $56,000 in monthly winnings thanks to hands like this one where he made a straight against his opponent’s royal flush draw (which ended up turning into a rivered top pair.)
In second place was TooBusyStackin, a Full Tilt regular who usually plays mid-stakes games but has enjoyed a good recent run at 10/20 NL. One marathon session in particular helped boost his monthly take to nearly $50,000, as TooBusyStackin endured a 3,100-hand heads-up match on Aug. 8 and came out a winner to the tune of $23,000. Unfortunately for his bottom line, however, a shot at 25/50 NL a couple of days later erased that profit and more, but he still sits near the top of the 10/20 NL leaderboard.
Hot on his heels, however, was the well-known poker pro aejones, who had picked up just shy of $48,000 in profit for August so far on his Full Tilt account. The biggest chunk of that came from a heads-up session on Aug. 10 in which aejones battled multiple opponents and picked up just over $23,000. The last hand of the session went his way, as he got it in on the flop with a flush draw against his opponent’s straight draw and turned a much-needed heart to win a $3,300 pot.
Ultimate $5/$10 NL Grinders
| Player | Site | Net | Hands | BB/100 |
| BUECKSTABUE | Party Poker | $37,385 | 9,708 | 19.25 |
| TheoDorand | Party Poker | $36,246 | 22,568 | 8.03 |
| Jenn415 | Poker Stars | $33,281 | 20,422 | 8.15 |
| Lillifee | Party Poker | $31,620 | 18,586 | 8.51 |
| luckyhaba | Full Tilt | $28,824 | 19,423 | 7.42 |
And over at 5/10 NL it’s once again a tight race, with less than $10,000 separating top spot from fifth place.
Out in front as of this writing was BUECKSTABUE. Through nearly 10,000 hands of mostly short-handed play in August, this relatively new player on PartyPoker had racked up more than $37,000 in winnings. One of his larger wins came when several players were sitting out and play had come down to just him and one opponent. In that heads-up encounter, BUECKSTABUE picked up AA on the button and his opponent was unfortunate to be dealt QQ in the big blind. The inevitable all-in-preflop confrontation ensued and BUECKSTABUE’s aces held to take the $4,000 pot.
Following closely behind in second place was TheoDorand, another relatively new player on PartyPoker who’s been trying to turn around a tough month in July and is off to a good start in August. Primarily a heads-up player, TheoDorand enjoyed a streak of winning sessions this month and has maintained a solid 8.03 BB/100 winrate over nearly 23,000 hands. One of his bigger pots came when he flopped a straight against his opponents top pair and check-called a shove on the turn.
And not too far off the pace in third place was Jenn415, a PokerStars grinder who has already earned two UGL badges at 3/6 NL and is now looking to add a 5/10 NL badge to that haul. Jenn415 is off to a good start in August thanks to a series of successful sessions including this brief outing which was worth nearly $5,000 in just 153 hands of play.
