It took only 29 hands of Heads up Pot Limit Omaha for Tom “durrrr” Dwan to dispatch of his opponent with ease. Sitting at the $500/$1000 PLO (2-max) table, durrrr took on Ziigmund taking him for $313,001.00 in the brief session which basically came down to two extremely large pots, both going durrrr’s direction.
In this hand, durrrr took the $153k pot by flopping a set of 6’s, and filling up on the turn vs. Ziigmund.
Ziigmund then reloaded for another $100k, and went through it on the very next hand as durrrr simply had a better 2-pair to win the $200k pot here.
durrrr has been on a hot streak recently winning the majority of the big pots against everyone en route to about $800k in profits in the last few days. Included in those winnings is another $460k win in 181 hands against Patrik Antonius in the “Durrrr Challenge.” For those that remember it (as it’s been going on for more than a year, and has had several long lapses in between), Dwan and Antonius are still attempting to complete their 50k hands together, and may actually see some light at the end of the tunnel. While the Durrrrchallenge.com site has not updated since April 30th, Dwan increased his lead on Antonius in 2 sessions with Antonius to around $2 million.
It is rumored that Jungleman12 waits in the wings to take on durrrr once he has completed his challenge with Patrik Antonius, which we’re all hoping takes place sometime before the next Haley’s comet. In truth, the two have about 10k hands to go before the challenge is completed, and have chatted about the possibility of a couple of marathon sessions soon to get this contest over.
