Cole and Ziigmund at 500/1k PLO

By Paul Ellis - September 3rd, 2010

Cole SouthCole South has been involved in a number of smallish sessions ranging from just a couple hands to 326 recently against Illari “Ziigmund” Sahamies. In back to back days, South and Ziigmund played 276 and 326 hands of Heads-Up $500/$1000 PLO respectively, resulting in South emerging with a net $146k profit. The two traded some really big blows over the 2 sessions, with Ziigmund reaping in the only 2 6-figure pots en route to a $180k profit in the first 276 hand session.

In the biggest pot of the first session, Ziigmund wins this hand holding 2h-Kc-4d-Ks and raked in the massive $200k pot. In the other large pot, Ziigmund would again take the large pot worth $132k holding 7s-9c-3s-4c in this hand.

But the second session went Cole South’s direction with 9 pots exceeding the 6 figure mark. While South and Sahamies both won 4 of these pots (with 1 ending in a chop), South emerged the victor in the largest pot of the session, a $411k monster that South wins holding 9h-Qs-Qc-Th.

The second largest hand was a chop of a $355k pot in this hand, where South holds 6h-Tc-Qd-Kd and Ziigmund holds Qc-7h-Qs-Td.

unbelievable i really believe people like these guys, durr, nanonoko have been tagged by the sites and win more races, hit more sets, etc…..in order to increase revenue as a means of VERY effective advertisement…..say what you want but just go look at nananoko’s stats the guys hits royal flushes WAYYYY more than he should over a large sample size(HUGE sample size).

think about how many fucking idiots dream of being able to pull in 7 figures from online poker after seeing donks like durrrr do it and i guarantee if someone ran their stats and analyzed them extensively they would see that luck is more than just on their side….

HEY if anyone from PTR reads this…..how about analyzing these top players HHs and seeing what percentage of races they win, sets they hit, etc….

and also how about analyzing another anomaly i’ve discovered on pokerstars:

Big stacks winning more hands than they should in tourneys….ive combed over hands even those were i wasnt the one all in, and i’ve discovered that big stacks are more like 65/35 in race situations and suck out much more than is acceptable.

If you think it’s rigged, then don’t play… seems pretty simple to me.

ktx49. What I appreciate most about your post is your in depth analysis and discussion of your advanced practices for determining how you came to these conclusions. Terms like wayyyyy more and Huge sample size were a little too technical for my understanding but I appreciated where you were going with it.

I couldn’t agree more about big stacks in tournies either, I looked at a sample size from one tourny had to have been at least 100 hands and big stacks won over 60% of the races. If that isn’t rigged I don’t know what is.

All these online pro’s are a joke. It has nothing to do with the fact that they play better than everyone else over the long run it is all about the fact that everyone of these sites is rigged and trying to sell the dream. I know this because I play in my town 2/5 blind NL and can beat all those guys but funny I can’t seem to even beat 25NL online. I am sure it has nothing to do with the fact they every one of these players I play live with doesn’t have a clue but all think that they are the next Phil Ivey and that online players have 10 times more skill. Plain and simply online poker is rigged and once someone files a lawsuit against these crooked sites, let me know so I can sign on.

ya idiots go look a nananoko or whatever….how do u hit that many str8 flushes over that size sample?

and i said i have a theory i never said i proved it. why doesnt PTR analyze their hands and see? i’m telling u people like this are just incredibly lucky combined with skill of course= huge winnings….

look at the people who are renowned for their skills but have the worst graphs ever…..why?
