Isildur1 Triumphs in Latest SuperStar Showdown

The chips were flying at PokerStars on Sunday. In the most anticipated SuperStar Showdown to date, Daniel 'w00ki3z.' Cates ended up becoming Isildur1's biggest victim thus far. Isildur1 jumped out to a quick ~$21,750 lead by hand 262, but the match went back and forth as there were at least 5 lead changes over the next 1,250 hands. w00ki3z. was actually up by $16,700 with only 700 hands to go, but Isi hit a few key pots in the final hands to reclaim the top spot and take down the latest SuperStar Showdown with a profit of almost $51,000.

The last of these was a wonderfully played pot by Isildur1. Although both players' stacks were pretty much destined to get in the middle after such an action flop, Isildur's undersized bet could have very likely lured w00ki3z. into raising him even if he didn’t hold a flush draw and a pair.

Isildur is also putting together a nice session as of Monday morning; he has won $29k in only 700 hands of $25/50 PLO. Maybe he can go on a signature tear and get into the black on PokerStars for the first time since early December. Only time will tell.
