Kai0707 Maintains Lead At $25/$50

UGL High StakesHalfway through January, kai0707 is still killing it at 25/50 NL. The PartyPoker player sits with more than $128,000 in monthly winnings as of this writing, maintaining a blistering 37.26 BB/100 winrate over nearly 3,500 hands. Some luck has definitely figured into his incredible run in 2011 thus far, like in this particular hand where he flopped a flush against a deep-stacked opponent who flopped a set. The board never paired and kai0707 took down the pot, worth more than $16,000.

Not too far off the pace sits L0ve2playU, who has grinded his way to nearly $110,000 in monthly profit over more than 21,000 hands. At this rate the PokerStars player will soon pull his bottom line back into the black, especially if he puts in a few more heads-up sessions like this one, where he picked up more than $22,000 in about 500 hands.

And in third place is last month’s $25/$50 UGL winner. WheresMyRoll once again finds himself on the $25/$50 NL leaderboard, thanks to a solid recent effort and nearly $100,000 in monthly profit. Here we see him take down a nice sized pot with some aggression on the river.

Meanwhile, at $10/$20 NL, Aaron “aejones” Jones has climbed to the top of the leaderboard with just shy of $55,000 in January winnings. The LeggoPoker coach made his money this month at both the heads-up and 6-max tables on Full Tilt. He picked up a nice pot here in a 6-max game when he called a 3-bet preflop with ten-nine of spades and his opponent didn’t follow through with a continuation bet on the flop. Jones took control of the hand when the turn brought two spades to the board. His bet paid off when a third spade came on the river and Jones took down the pot.

In a close second place is Peel777, who sat with $52,483 winnings in roughly the same number of hands as Jones at these stakes so far in January. The iPoker player earned this large pot in a heads-up battle when he 3-bet queen-four of spades out of position and managed to get a check-raise paid off on the river after turning a straight.

And in third place was Bodog regular timmo1122, who had nearly $46,000 in monthly profit as of this writing. This has helped push him over the quarter-million-dollar mark in total winnings on Bodog alone. Here we see him him control the size of the pot with top pair and let his opponent continue to bluff away with total air.

And over at 5/10 NL, Dimadu has jumped into first place with nearly $40,000 in January winnings. The PokerStars regular was fifth on the leaderboard last week but has pulled ahead of the competition with a little help from the deck in in pots like this, where he picked up pocket kings in the big blind against his opponent’s pocket queens in the small blind.

In second place is NICCUHPLEASE, an Absolute Poker regular who continues to dominate at these stakes. His long-term success speaks to his skill, but he did get incredibly lucky in this recent hand, getting his money in about as bad as you can preflop and hitting the miracle board hard to crack pocket aces with his ace-king suited.

And in third place is Russian Full Tilt regular MystersY, who has amassed just over $27,000 in monthly profit. Here we see him put a pretty sick beat on an opponent, cracking a flopped set by backing into a flush.
