Good live player, awful online!
Hey all,
I could use advice from some of the better poker players on here.
I'm a $2/5 live player, ...play one or two good sessions a week..and am up $52K on the year so far. I've been progressing year to year..went from too tight..to too loose...back to reading a newspaper for hours and waiting for premium hands. Not anymore. Now I regularly call 3-5 BBs with a wide range of hands..and feel like I have the post-flop savvy to make that profitable. I almost always make the right decision in the big situation. I occasionally cost myself a buyin or 2 from all these loose calls..but then catch fire and find myself 10 buyins up in a hurry. I'm much more about reads, playing the board, playing the player than just the two cards in my hands. Once I finally catch a legit hand..I get paid pretty easily. Like mentio

:D on line is not about reads it is al about the math, the guys who are grinding on line are playing 8-10 tables at a time making there rakeback and dont have the time or care to really READ a opponant, the tracking software is all the reading they do. and also belive it or not but the skill level of a $2-$5 live player is about the same as a micro on line player like say .10-.20 or $20nl or maybe .10-.25 or $25nl player . and i would say the on line player at $25nl is more skilled. what are your numbers on line? if you play full ring they should be around 16/13/40 and if you play six handed they should be around 19/17/55. and what tracking software do you use.

Online and live has very little difference. any winning player live can go online and win. Anyone winning player online can go live and win. A perfect example of a guy who thought he was a great player was Daniel Negreanu. he got crushed in live games on tv and got crushed online. Doesn't matter. Phil Ivey crushed live and online. Tom dwan crushed live and online. It doesn't make much of a difference. You either can play or you can't. Sometimes you run bad and have a bad streak. But if you logged in over 100 k hands you should be profiting online. if you only put in like 10 k hands. Don't worry about it its just variance it will even out over 100 k hand span where you should be showing profit. If your up 52 k like you said its just a matter of time before you win online too. If your good your going to win.

Yeah dude online players are much more skilled then live players..Clocking in over 300k hands a year compared to a live player that may play 5k hands a year..you get alot of drunk donks at live games..and pussies that are scared to 3 and 4 bet bluff due to anxiety...online players will catch your pattern and 3 bet you until you lose your damn mind..good online players rarely call like you stated that you often do..if your getting called your getting floated or falling into a bear trap
