Phil Ivey splashed into the poker scene in the late 90s and is considered one of the best players in the world. He has one of the most recognized faces and is known for his penetrating stare and possesses the ability to soak in every piece of information about his opponents. In 2000, he had an amazing performance in the World Series of Poker, where he made two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2,500 Pot-Limit Omaha event.

Ivey's strength is his ability to focus, remain calm and cool, and have controlled aggression. His quiet demeanor knows how to let the cards and his actions do the talking. In 2006, Ivey was named Player of the Year by three separate publications: All In Magazine, Bluff Magazine and the UK Gaming Awards.
